Click here to view a chart with the number of users in each state - December 31, 2016

This chart shows the total number of unique users per state since launch on 2/2/10. A "Unique User" is an individual who has completed an enrollment form (SMS or web) using a unique phone number. There will only be one Unique User in text4baby associated with a unique phone number. If a user cancels and re-enrolls in the system using the same unique phone number, this user is only counted once using the first day that they enrolled.

Click here to view a chart with population-adjusted enrollment by state - December 31, 2016

This chart shows an estimate for population-adjusted text4baby enrollment using live births per state to approximate the number of pregnancies and infants for each state. The goal is to estimate how each state is doing in enrolling all the eligible mothers in text4baby (those who are pregnant and those who have infants < 1 year of age). The calculation is: (Tot. # Unique Users since Launch in State)/(Estimated # of women who were pregnant or had an infant <1 since launch). The number of pregnancies and infants was estimated using 2008 Annual Live Birth data (the most recently available data for all states) from the CDC Vital Stats online system.

This pie chart shows the breakdown of total unique users since launch (2/2/10) by current protocol of messages, defined as either Pregnancy or New Baby. The New Baby group includes participants with infants < 1 year who are receiving weekly messages and those who have infants >1 year who have not cancelled the program.
