2011 Text4baby State Enrollment Contest
National, State and local text4baby partners nationwide are working together to enroll 1 million moms in text4baby by December 2012. The recently-ended Text4baby State Contest is supported this work at the state level by encouraging healthy competition.
“Text4baby represents an extraordinary opportunity to expand the way we use our phones, to demonstrate the potential of mobile health technology, and make a real difference for moms and babies across the country.” -Aneesh Chopra, U.S.

About the Contest
From May 10, 2011 through October 20, 2011, states competed to enroll as many users as possible in text4baby. Contest winners were announced at a reception during the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting in Washington, DC on November 1, 2011.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Chief Technology Officer Todd Park speaks about text4baby during the APHA reception announcing the contest winners.
The three states who enrolled the most users during the contest period have won a sponsored luncheon and a press conference for partners in their state. Staff and partners will be working together to plan these events over the upcoming months.
